The International Workers Day or a party of workers and became Labour Day is an annual international festival that celebrates the workers. It is the opportunity for significant events of the labor movement.

Originally the day was established as an annual day of strike for the reduction of working time and is celebrated in many countries around the world on 1 May That said, the day of Labor Day is not celebrated for everyone May 1:

• In North America, it is officially celebrated the first Monday in September
• In India, its an official Holiday on May 1st
• In the United Kingdom and Ireland, it is shifted on the first Monday in May
• In Australia, it is celebrated on different dates close to the spring or fall.

The day of Labor Day is often introduced as an official holiday and is sometimes associated with other festivities or traditions.

Veterans Day is an annual American holiday honoring military veterans. Both a federal holiday and a state holiday in all states, it is usually observed on November 11. However, if it occurs on a Sunday then the following Monday is designated for holiday leave, and if it occurs Saturday then either Saturday or Friday may be so designated. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)

The holiday is commonly printed as Veteran’s Day or Veterans’ Day in calendars and advertisements. While these spellings are grammatically acceptable, the United States government has declared that the attributive (no apostrophe) rather than the possessive case is the official spelling.

Google didn’t put up a new doodle this diwali but orkut didn’t forget to post one!!! Diwali or D?p?vali is a significant festival in Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism, and an official holiday in India. Adherents of these religions celebrate Diwali as the Festival of Lights. They light diyas—cotton string wicks inserted in small clay pots filled with oil—to signify victory of good over the evil within an individual.

The Swiss National Day (German: Schweizer Bundesfeier; French: Fête nationale Suisse; Italian: Festa nazionale svizzera; Romansh: Fiasta naziunala Svizra) is 1 August. It is inspired by the mention of “early August” (primo incipiente mense Augusto) in the Federal Charter of 1291. It was first celebrated in Berne in 1891, marking the 600th anniversary of the charter. It displaced the formerly more prominent traditional date of the Rütlischwur, 8 November 1307. Based on that date, in 1907, the 600th anniversary was celebrated in Altdorf. In 1941, the 650th anniversary was celebrated.

Bastille Day is the French national holiday, celebrated on 14 July each year. In France, it is called Fête Nationale (“National Celebration”) in official parlance, or more commonly le quatorze juillet (“14 July”). It commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, held on the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789; the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern nation, and of the reconciliation of all the French inside the constitutional monarchy which preceded the First Republic, during the French Revolution.

Today, the Swedes celebrate their national holiday. The holiday 1916 as an official Flag Day observances tag was launched in 1985 of National Day since 2005 6th June is a public holiday.
